Efficiency and flexibility in drawer production
Kraft Group presents new solution at LIGNA 2025
The demands placed on modern production systems are growing: high variant diversity, short delivery times and maximum efficiency take centre stage. Together with our customer, we have developed a drawer production line that masters all of these challenges. The entire system combines production and logistics in a continuous, automated process and ensures flexible, economical and future-proof production.
From small series to batch size 1
Where small batches were previously produced, the new system now ensures continuous production in batch size 1. All individual parts arrive at their destination at exactly the right time. The entire material flow is structured in such a way that intermediate storage is no longer necessary. Drawers are manufactured just-in-time to match the respective carcass, optimizing the entire supply chain.
Automation
With a total of seven robots and an intelligent control system, manual assembly activities have been largely automated. This not only ensures higher throughput, but also consistent quality for every drawer produced. The entire assembly process is seamlessly integrated into the digital control system so that the individual parts are available at exactly the right time.
High product diversity with a centralised solution
A special feature of the system is its enormous flexibility: with over 100 different items, our customer's entire product range can be manufactured on a single line. Different drawer variants with metal or wooden back panels, different depths and widths - everything is produced on one system that can be quickly and easily adapted to changing requirements.
Data-based optimisation
To make production even more efficient, the system was equipped with our ida (intelligent data analytics) software solution. This allows production processes to be monitored in real time, bottlenecks to be identified and optimisation potential to be uncovered. And all of this is web-based and can be done from anywhere.
Maximum transparency and efficiency in plant operation - with ida, key figures become understandable, optimisation potential becomes visible and plant availability is increased. Real-time reports and targeted recommendations ensure a smooth production process.
Live at the LIGNA
A central element of the new production line is our drawer press, which makes a significant contribution to increasing efficiency. We will be presenting how the press and the entire production line work in practice live at LIGNA 2025. We look forward to meeting familiar faces and, of course, making new contacts.
